How to set up a POAP website

Guess the city!

POAPs continue to be the go-to platform for the minting of digital collectibles of all life experiences. As communities continue to grow and get deeper into POAP, manual distribution has become a daunting task. As POAP users, we understand this and work hard to bring new solutions for everyone to enjoy POAP without unnecessary overhead.

What is POAP.websites?

It is a tool to distribute POAPs by requesting the receiver to enter into a website that automatically distributes codes. While this is very practical (a unique URL allows everyone to get a POAP) keep in mind that anyone with the URL will be able to get one.

Enough disclaimers, let’s get to it:

1- Create your POAP

Creating a POAP is easy, just head to this link and fill out the form. If you have any doubts about what you should include in these fields, please check out our FAQs.
Since we are creating a Website, make sure you leave the Requested Codes field in 0.

2- Create the POAP.website

Once your POAP is created, you will receive an email with your Edit Code. Save this code, it will allow you to make changes to your event from now on. Head down to this link and look for your POAP (you can use Name or ID). Enter your Edit Code and Submit.

Fill in the form. Your website will only distribute codes during the timeframe you selected. Request the amount of codes equal to the approximate amount of POAPs that you expect to distribute.
If you want to increase security, you can add a Captcha to your website. Once you submit this request, you will receive a website creation confirmation email.

Before your website is active, you will have to wait until it’s accepted. Once again, you will receive a confirmation email upon approval. Your POAP.website will be available in the timeframe you specified.

Done! Your website is accesible on POAP.website/{your_website_name}

3- Generating a QR for your website

Once your website is ready, you can generate a QR code that will allow users to scan it and be redirected to your website directly. To create one, just go to the website panel, look for your event and click on Generate QR code. This will open up a window showing the QR code and allowing you to download the image.

4- What if I want to edit a website or run out of codes?

Don’t worry, we all make mistakes, just go head back to the websites panel, enter your event info, and modify the name, dates or request more codes. Keep in mind that if you already requested codes, you will not be able to open a new request until the previous one is accepted.

Once you create a new request, you will receive a confirmation email. Once the new set of codes is loaded into your website, you will also receive an email notification.

Refill my codes, people are crazy for POAPs!

That’s all folks! 4 easy steps and you are done. Enjoy your POAPs!

Troubleshooting

When I enter my website, it shows up as “Event is no longer active”

This is because your event is outside of the time window you specified when you created it. Please go back to the websites panel, look for your event and modify the dates.

When I enter my website, it displays a “Invalid Event URL” message

This is because you typed the URL incorrectly or your request has not been approved. Please be patient towards your requests approval. If it takes more than 2 days, reach out to us in our communication channels.

When I enter my website, it displays a “No more claim URLs available” message

This means that your website has ran out of claim codes. Please head to the websites panel and request additional codes. Keep in mind that these will have to be approved by the POAP team, so plan in advance.
